GIVing Inspiration: Our Cause
Imagine not having a backpack or bag to carry your school materials in, let alone any of your other belongings. Something as simple as a backpack gives children the inspiration they need to get excited about school and the idea of learning. However we can’t do this without you.
By purchasing one GivBag, we promise to supply a backpack to a student in need. Here at GivBag, we want to inspire the lives of children in poverty stricken areas by contributing that one specific resource that will make their daily lives manageable. Ultimately, we want to give them that little push they need to enable them to exceed their potential. It is Inspiration in which we intend to pass onto the children in need through our backpacks.
We do not only intend to inspire the students in need, but you, the customer. With your support, we want to create a fellowship with these children and give back to the community on a global scale. Our goal as a company is to supply a product to you that has meaning; a product that speaks for itself both through its style and through its sentimental value. We promise to be an honest company that offers a product that will literally GIV back to the community.
World Vision’s aid agencies in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Minneapolis, Chicago, West Virginia, Georgia, Washington, DC, and Dallas have reported 140,000 requests for backpacks last year alone. That is one organization, in only a few select areas. World Vision was only able to donate 18,000, leaving a large gap. That means right here in the United States, thousands of people cannot afford to purchase a backpack.

About the Founders
In March of 2010, GivBag was founded by a senior in high school who now attends the University of California, Berkeley and a senior in high school who now attends the University of California, Riverside. The goal? Help students in the United States and around the world who are less fortunate. A few months after creation, GivBag brought on a team of other high school seniors in the Orange County area. All with the same mission in mind, our first and foremost objective is to help others before a profit is taken.
GivBag is run by five college students who want to better the world.
